Porsche unveiled the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid ahead of its world premiere at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The fourth model in the lineup is a petrol-electric hybrid with four-wheel drive system and derives power from the same motor that will feature in the forthcoming Cayenne E-Hybrid. The internal combustion engine is the recently revealed 2.9-litre, twin-turbo, V6 petrol which is capable of producing a maximum power output of 330 hp and 450 Nm of peak torque.
It is connected with an electric motor, mounted at the frontal portion of the transmission, producing 136 horsepower. The combined output is rated at 463 hp and 699 Nm. Porsche says the electric motor, based on the one found in 918 Spyder hypercar, has been significantly developed to give instant throttle response when petrol and electric motors work together.

Over the first generation Panamera S E-Hybrid, the new version can do 0-100 kmph faster by 0.9 seconds (4.6 seconds) while topping out 8.04 kmph more (278 kmph). Power is sent to all the four wheels through a new eight-speed dual clutch automatic transmission with multi plate clutch. The six driving modes include Sport, Sport Plus, E-power, Hybrid Auto, E-Hold and E-Charge.
The pure electric drive range in the 4 E-Hybrid is rated at 50 km with top speed of 140 kmph. The electric motor derives power from a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery that can be charged in 5.8 hours utilizing a standard 3.6kW charger or an optional 7.2kW charger. While the cabin is cooled during charging via auxiliary air conditioner, the Power Meter allows for necessary information to be displayed on the multimedia screen.

For instance, data on energy stores, boost assistant and hybrid assistant are notified. On the inside, the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid has a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system alongside luxury features accustomed to the model.
