Union road and transport minister Nitin Gadkari has softened his stand on the automakers in the country regarding the adoption of Mission EV 2030. Earlier he said that the automakers need to be prepared to be bulldozed in case they fail to meet Mission EV 2030. As he said, the government is not against automobile industry, but concerned about the alarmingly increasing level of vehicular pollution. He said that the government wants the automobile industry to venture into electric vehicle segment. The alternate fuel technology is also another sector on which government is emphasising.
