Yamaha Saluto 125 cc Gets New Matte Green Colour

The Yamaha Saluto takes power from a 123 cc single cylinder air cooled engine, and the matte green colour is available in disc and drum brake options

Yamaha Motor India has introduced an all new Matte Green colour to the Saluto 125 cc commuter motorcycle. The new coloured Saluto will be available in all the Yamaha dealerships across the country in a week. The motorcycle comes priced at Rs. 56,100 (ex showroom, New Delhi) for the disc brake variant and Rs. 53,600 (ex showroom, New Delhi) for the drum brake variant.

In India the commuter motorcycle segment is the most competitive segment with high demand. But the Yamaha is still lagging behind in the segment, and to boost the sales ahead of the festive season the company has introduced the new attractive colour theme to the Saluto. Few weeks back Honda introduced a special edition of the CB Hornet 160R, Suzuki introduced the special edition of Gixxer and Gixxer SF; and now Yamaha takes its own step.

The Yamaha Saluto has been developed keeping the need of the customers who seek economical and practical motorcycle for daily commuting. The motorcycle takes power from a 123 cc single cylinder air cooled four valve engine shared with the Yamaha SS125 and Yamaha YBR125.

The engine churns out 8.3 PS of peak power at 7,000 RPM and 10.1 NM of peak torque at 4,500 RPM. This same engine kicks out 10.88 PS of peak power and 10.40 NM of peak torque in the SS125 and YBR125. The Saluto comes as the most lightweight commuter motorcycle in the 125 cc segment. At just 112 kg weight, the Saluto offers around 78 kmpl of claimed fuel economy.

The Yamaha Saluto competes against the rivals like Bajaj Discover 125 and Hero Super Splendor, which both comes very strong and popular in the segment. The Saluto can reach 0 – 60 kmph in 9.4 seconds, while the top speed of this motorcycle is 86.7 kmph.
