The Ray ZR Street Rally Edition comes with red and black colour combination for sporty look along with new racing decals

Yamaha is going to introduce a new variant of Ray ZR in India and the company released a teaser video which shows the upcoming scooter. The teaser video doesn’t reveal new model completely, but we can make out that it is based on Ray ZR and the video also has a phrase ‘Get Ready To Rally” so it could be Street Rally Edition, which was showcased at 2018 Auto Expo.

The Ray ZR Street Rally Edition comes with red and black colour combination for sporty look along with new racing decals and minor changes for body panels to make the scooter look aggressive. Apart from this, the Japanese manufacturer has also given a new digital instrument cluster, aluminium foot rest and smoked engine guard.

The Ray ZR Street Rally Edition comes with gas charged mono suspension at rear, which will improve handling and it could be finished in red colour to further increase sporty appeal. Yamaha has given triple colour – black, grey and red colour combination for the seat cover along with aluminium finish for floor pan.

The Ray ZR model comes with disc brakes at front and in Street Rally Edition, the callipers will be finished in red colour. But the scooter showcased at Auto Expo comes with golden alloy wheels and some minor aesthetics difference compared to production model, which was expected.

The engine will be carried forward from regular model, 113 cc single cylinder 2-valve engine produces 7.1 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 8.1 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. This engine is mated to CVT transmission. Yamaha’s Blue core technology helps this engine to return 66 kmpl with excellent performance.

The Ray ZR comes with telescopic front suspension and base model come with drum brakes at front and rear. The Japanese manufacturer has also given 90 section tubeless tyres and comes with 21 litres of under seat storage with hook below seat. Yamaha Ray ZR Street Rally Edition is expected to be priced at a small premium compared to regular model.
