Just few days before launch, the Yamaha R3 has been spotted again. There has very few times the Yamaha R3 has been caught testing. Since the motorcycle has come in the CKD route, Yamaha has not spend million dollars to put it to test again here in India, as it just did the mandatory test and is ready for launch. The Yamaha R3 launch is all set to happen at the BIC on 11 August this year and will compete in the highly competitive middle weight entry level segment.

Yamaha R3 has been caught here with a hideous full size saree guard on the left side. Something which our government thinks is better rule than making ABS as standard. Ugly saree guards are seen on all import bikes because the size of the bike and number cylinder seems to determine the saree guards length. Honda has worked their way around this saree guard governance and is making good looking and infact practical saree guards. We can imagine a women in a saree sitting one sided while her husbands revs upto 14,000 RPM.
Yamaha R3 is all set to come to India at a sub Rs. 3 lakh price which should stretch the pricing upto slightly higher on road. Yamaha R3 comes with a liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that makes 42 BHP of power and 29.6 Nm of torque. The engines revs upto 14,000 RPM and will compete with the likes of the already faster KTM RC390, fantastic and highly premium Kawasaki Ninja 300 and if Honda dares to bring the CBR300R within the next few years. Battle’s heating up in every segment. We hope this marks the entry of other Yamaha’s bigger motorcycles that are roaming on international streets and those will come to our shores soon too.
