Yamaha offering the R15 V3.0 with a number of optional accessories alongside a racing kit featuring Metzeler radial rear tyre and Daytona exhaust muffler
The long-wait for a new R15 was finally over when Yamaha graced the 2018 Auto Expo last month with the third generation model. Priced at Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), it comes with a striking exterior boasting proper race looks and mechanical changes making it the most powerful 150 cc currently on sale.
It is the first motorcycle in its segment to feature Assist and Slipper Clutch as well. Yamaha displayed the R15 V3.0 with optional kit at the motoring exhibition and the pricing of the individual accessories are now out in the open. The accessory list comprises of Seat Cover, Frame Slider, Tank Pad, Skid Plate and USB Connector. Priced at Rs. 430, Yamaha says the Seat Cover avoids direct damage on seat and is created with the same material as the genuine seat.

The Tank Pad, costing Rs. 225 extra, is to avoid scratches on tank during riding and gets certified with Yamaha’s Global Standard Quality and features special logo of R15. The USB Connector can be pretty handy during long rides while the Skid Plate prevents damage to muffler against speed breaker for Rs. 500. The Frame Slider, integrated into the fairing, also avoids damage during light impacts and it has been priced at Rs. 2,450.
The substantial performance enhancer is definitely the Racing Kit that is recommended by Yamaha to be used at race tracks. The Metzeler Sportec M5 140/70 R17 section rear radial tyre, only for track use, comes with price tag of Rs. 9,998 while the specially-developed Daytona Muffler costs Rs. 16,700 and is said to be for track use only.
