Yamaha Glorious concept is inspired by high-end musical instruments; sports LED headlamp and taillight along with digital instrument cluster
Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Yamaha has showcased Glorious scooter concept at the 2017 Vietnam Motorcycle Show. As the brand claims, the scooter has been designed with inspiration from high-end Yamaha musical instruments. Also, the company says that this scooter concept has been designed blending premium technology with stylish design.
Speaking about the design, the Yamaha Glorious scooter concept sports triangular shaped LED headlamp and taillight. It gets a fully digital instrument cluster that comes with smartphone connectivity options alongside being very informative. This instrument cluster is capable of showing fuel data, speed, time, temperature. Yamaha says that upon launch of the production-spec model, the scooter will bring radical change in two-wheeler mobility.

Yamaha has equipped the scooter with a very futuristic approach. The rider can read out messages from his smartphone at the instrument cluster through the Bluetooth connectivity feature. The concept appears with a very flowing design and the footboard offers generous amount of space, while the seat has been designed to give the rider comfortable experience. The rear of the Yamaha Glorious scooter concept comes sporting three sleek vertical LED stripes that enhance its visual appeal further.
Yamaha has given it a contemporary look and it comes with a minimalist style. For instance, the handlebar gets only an engine start/stop button and a horn switch. The exhaust comes taking inspiration from Yamaha NVX 155. Speaking about braking equipment, the Yamaha Glorious is equipped with a petal disc brake up front, while rear gets drum brake and it runs on black alloy wheels wrapped with meaty rubber.

Powertrain of the Yamaha Glorious scooter concept is a 155 cc engine shared with the Yamaha NVX 155. This engine is well capable of producing 15 PS of peak power at 8,000 rpm and 13.8 Nm of peak torque at 6,250 rpm. In the Indian two-wheeler market scooters are very popular and experienced high demand in recent past. It would be very interesting to see, if the Japanese brand launches the Glorious scooter in the country. If launched, this premium scooter would challenge the Vespa 150.
