Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR Street Rally Edition has its design inspiration taken from globally popular Yamaha motorcycles
India Yamaha Motor Private Limited has launched a new edition of the Cygnus ZR in the domestic market today. Christened the Street Rally Edition, it has received design inspiration from the globally popular two-wheelers Yamaha sold worldwide. It has a unique blend of sporty styling that complements the overall desirable appeal of the standard Cygnus Ray ZR.
In India, the scooter has been priced at Rs. 57,898 (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and is made available across all the Yamaha dealerships in right from last week of July. The Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR Street Rally Edition is retailed in two different colours namely Rally Red and Racing Blue.
The visual differences are obvious compared to the regular model and Yamaha says the ‘Wing Style’ front fairing takes inspiration from the top-notch MT-09 street fighter. Alongside enhancing the sporty stance of the new edition, it helps in deflecting the wind as well.
The brand new knuckle guard protects wind blasts on the handle grip. The movable front fender helps in mud protection and the ‘Rising Air Tail’ along with wing mirrors and all-digital meter with roller rocker arm serves in reducing the horsepower loss.
The Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR Street Rally Edition comes equipped with a 113 cc air-cooled four-stroke SOHC engine with Blue Core technology for optimum efficiency. It is good enough to produce a maximum power output of 7.2 PS at 7,500 rpm and 8.1 Nm of peak torque delivered at 5,000 rpm. It is connected to a CVT transmission.
The special edition uses a 170 mm diameter front disc brake and sporty alloy wheels. It offers key secure grip as well as 21 litres of under seat storage capacity with the front pocket claimed to fit a 500 ml bottle.
