The prices of the top four grades of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder are out now and the waiting period stands at up to 8 months
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) announced the pricing of the top four grades of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder a few days ago. It costs Rs. 15.11 lakh for the S eDrive 2WD Hybrid, Rs. 17.09 lakh for the V AT 2WD Neo Drive, Rs. 17.49 for the G eDrive 2WD Hybrid and Rs. 18.99 lakh for V eDrive 2WD Hybrid (ex-showroom) in the domestic market.
The five-seater hybrid SUV is manufactured at the brand’s plant in Bidadi, Karnataka and is one of the much-awaited launches in recent times due to what it brings to the table. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder competes against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Nissan Kicks and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
The prices of other variants of the Hyryder will be released in the coming weeks and we do expect the entry-level model to cost around Rs. 9.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, the waiting period is at seven to eight months depending on the variants. The Hyryder is powered by a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid K15C four-cylinder petrol engine sourced from Maruti Suzuki and it develops a maximum power output of 103 PS and 136 Nm of peak torque.
The powertrain is linked with a five-speed manual transmission as standard while a six-speed torque converter automatic unit is an option. The former can also be had with an all-wheel-drive configuration. The all-important 1.5-litre three-cylinder TNGA Atkinson Cycle petrol engine works in tandem with an electric motor and a battery pack to form a strong hybrid system.
It is good enough to generate 116 PS maximum power and the powertrain is connected to an e-CVT. The Hyryder features a dedicated EV-only mode and the claimed fuel efficiency stands at around 27 kmpl. It has several commonalities with the soon-launching Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara including the Global C platform.
The features list comprises a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, automatic climate control, cruise control, engine start/stop button, six airbags, 17-inch alloy wheels, wireless charger, dual-tone cabin theme, six-speaker Arkamys audio, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, head-up display, a 360-degree camera, LED headlamps, TPMS, leather seats, drive modes, leather-wrapped steering wheel and so on.
