Volkswagen India has updated the VW Polo, VW Ameo, and VW Vento with an additional set of features and a Connect Edition
Volkswagen India has given the VW Polo, VW Ameo, and VW Vento a fresh lease of life by launching a host of new features for their exterior and interior along with a new Connect edition that offers smartphone connectivity options.
All the last generation Polo-based models get a new colour option in the form of Lapiz Blue, which is a dark blue metallic shade that was launched on the Skoda Rapid Onyx Edition last month. Also, the three models get Moonstone coloured trim around their audio system, glove box light, a USB charging port at the rear, new 16-inch Portago Gray mag wheels. The interior also gets leatherette seat upholstery. The GT versions of the Polo get chequered seat fabrics.
The VW Vento also gets a body-coloured rear spoiler, which makes it look a bit sportier. The Polo-based full-size sedan is a direct competitor of the Honda City and the Maruti Ciaz. The Allstar variant gets new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels that look very premium.
The Connect Edition of the VW Polo, VW Ameo, and VW Vento supports Volkswagen Connect app, which is basically an intuitive vehicle assistant that provides a seamless connected car experience to the user. It can be used simply by connecting the smartphone to the infotainment unit through a plug and play data dongle. The app fetches data from the OBD port of the car.
The various features offered by this app include trip tracking, fuel cost monitoring, driving behaviour, location sharing, SOS call and service appointment.
The updated VW Polo has gone on sale in a price range of INR 5.55 lakhs to 9.39 lakhs. The Ameo, which is the compact sedan version of the Polo, costs Rs 5.65 lakh to Rs 9.99 lakh. The most expensive model among these three is the Volkswagen Vento. It is available in a price range of Rs 8.38 lakh to Rs 14.02 lakh.
