Vento CS / Polo Plus to share platform of Polo, Interior of Vento
After Ford made its latest entry into the compact sedan segment with its Figo Aspire, it is the time for the German automobile manufacturer to make its entrant into the demanding segment. Volkswagen has been working too hard on its compact sedan and it comes as good news that the company is expecting to introduce the model at the 2016 Auto Expo. With the spy images spotted recently, one thing is sure that its launch is nearer (By mid-2016).
As per the sources, the VW compact-sedan will be based on its Polo with a similar wheelbase (the Vento will have a longer wheelbase than the Polo), which clearly means that one will get a good boot and rear space (could call Vento CS or Polo Plus). From the spy shots, one can notice the changes in the form of the revised headlamp with redesigned grille design making the front fascia look attractive. Going along its rear, the tail lamp shape is quite similar to the Vento but will offer with different styling. Inside the cabin, one can notice the similar center console, which is offered on its Polo and the outgoing Vento. Vento CS / Polo Plus expected to be price around Rs.5.40 to 8.20 lakhs that is 35K more than Polo hatchback.
It seems Volkswagen is all geared up to be committed to PM Modi’s Make in India Campaign and has planned to launch products suitable for the Indian market. While the compact sedan will be the first product to prove its adherence to the campaign, its compact SUV, which is expected to be launched around 2017, will be the second in its list. VW will be export the products from its Chakan plant, the same facility from where the company had shipped around 65,000 units last year. The company is very hopeful to make this figure to at least 70,000 units this year.
We wish the German automaker all the very best for making another success story with good sales number with the launch of a compact sedan in the country.
