Highline Plus is the new top-of-the-line trim for the premium hatchback; sports new 16-inch alloy wheels and updated infotainment system
Volkswagen has introduced the new top-of-the-line trim to its premium hatchback Polo in India. It comes priced between Rs. 7.24 lakh and Rs. 8.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The all-new Highline Plus trim offers new design bigger 16-inch alloy wheel and an updated touchscreen infotainment system with reverse parking camera as standard.
The German auto manufacturer said it will introduce the top ranging Highline Plus across its entire range of cars in the domestic market. The brand has already launched the Vento Highline Plus few months ago. Now, the auto major has introduced the Highline Plus trim to the Ameo compact sedan and the Polo hatchback as well. However, the Polo Highline Plus doesn’t sport the LED daytime running light like the Vento Highline Plus.

It is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. Apart from the same engines, the power and torque output too remain unchanged. The petrol model is priced at Rs. 7.24 lakh and the diesel model comes priced at Rs. 8.78 lakh. With the new trim, Polo becomes more competitive against the tough rivals like Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz.
Volkswagen Polo carries a sharp design language that is visible in other models from the brand. The petrol powered Polo hatchback gets energy from a 1.2-litre engine under the hood that kicks out 75 hp of peak power, while the diesel powered model gets a 90 bhp generating 1.5-litre fuel burner.

Currently the German auto manufacturer is preparing to launch the new generation Polo here that was unveiled in Berlin last month. The sixth generation Volkswagen Polo is based on the automaker’s famous MQB platform and it appears with much sharper design compared to its predecessor. In terms of features, the all-new Polo hatchback becomes more premium with the high-tech equipments. Expect the car to arrive here sometime next year.
