Volkswagen Plans Launching 17 All-New Vehicles In Next 5 Years

VW is planning to launch 17 new models in market between now and the end of 2024, which kicks off with the launch of T-Roc R and Arteon R performance models

Volkswagen is planning product-onslaught to improve its sales across major segments. Most of the manufacturers are moving towards electric models but traditional combustion engines won’t die immediately as full EV market is still sometime away which is why Volkswagen is planning to introduce a number of new generation diesel and petrol engines.

According to a recent report, Volkswagen is planning to launch 17 new models in market between now and the end of 2024. The product strategy kicks off with the launch of T-Roc R and Arteon R performance models which will be launched later this year. The T-Roc R will be powered by 2.0 L turbocharged engine from Golf R producing 310 hp.

Volkswagen reveals ArteonThe Arteon R will produce excess of 400 hp and it will beat Porsche Panamera models in a straight fight. Earlier, we reported that Volkswagen is working on Tiguan coupe as this type of bodystyle is getting popular among customers thanks to the launch several other models. The Tiguan coupe will be powered by 2.0 L TSI engine with 220 hp and 2.0 L twin turbo charged diesel engine producing 240 hp.

Then the next model coming from Volkswagen is Passat facelift as the current model is facing stiff competition from new players and it will be launched by the end of this year or early 2019. Volkswagen has been working on a compact SUV for sometime now, which is named as T-Cross and it is one of the highly anticipated models from VW.

Volkswagen T-Cross Breeze Concept front fasciaThe T-Cross is based on new generation modular platform of Polo and it is one of the models considered for Indian market.  Volkswagen will offer T-Cross with same engine option from Polo range which includes 1.0 L TSI engine to new 1.6 L TDI engine. We can expect T-Cross to be introduced by the end of 2018.

2019 is going to be one of the important years for VW as the company will introduce eighth generation Golf and I.D electric hatchback which is going to replace e-Golf in VW’s lineup. Along with regular model, VW will introduce Estate and GTI models of Golf. The company will end next year with launch of VW T7 and Arteon Shooting Brake model.

In 2020, VW will introduce high performance Golf R which will be tuned for extremely sporty performance and handling as the company is pitching it as a direct rival of Mercedes A45 AMG. Then between 2020-2024, Volkswagen will introduce different models in all electric I.D range like SUV, sedan and high performance models.
