As per Volkswagen India, The deliveries of the identified 389 defective Polo cars at certain dealership will be resumed soon after the inspection and preventive repair of each car is completed
Volkswagen is in a bit of trouble around the world as of now. The Company has been accused of cheating while showing emission numbers that are rigged through a software, which detects whether its being tested on a rig or not. Here, in India the government has stepped into the issue like other global bodies and has started inspecting the facts.
However, there is another problem that Volkswagen is facing in India which very little significance to safety or environmental issues. Volkswagen recently said to their dealers stop selling Polo’s to customers for an unknown reason. Rumors in the air suggested and obviously as well stated that it could be emission related issue with the new 1.5 TDi diesel . But, the story is very different.
Volkswagen India identified 389 defective Polo dispatched to various dealerships in India and instructed the service centers to do the replacement of faulty part, and announced the recall for already sold Polo cars which could have potential handbrake issues.
The handbrake issues lies in the Polo where the quality department has detected a potential issue. Polo’s handbrake retention lever that might break as it connected to the rear brake liner. The affected Polo’s come from a single batch which was made in the month of September 2015. As always this is a voluntary recall from the company. The Polo’s will be taken to service center by customers who have been affected by this latest recall. Recall work done on the car will free of cost and as per situation, it shouldn’t consume a lot of time either.

Volkswagen has recently rolled the new refreshed Polo that comes with features such as cooled glove box, cruise control and much more. The engines continue to be the same. The 1.2 TSi automatic dual clutch gearbox, that is mated to a turbocharged petrol engine. The 1.5 Tdi and 1.2 Mpi continue to be on sale as well. Delivers of the new Polo which will fixed of their problem should begin soon, says VW, when the problem is fixed.
