Highly Promising Volkswagen Atlas SUV’s Prices and Specs Announced in US

Volkswagen Atlas prices start at $30,500 (Rs. 19.81 lakh) and goes up to $48,490 (Rs. 31.50 lakh) for the range-topper

Volkswagen has announced the pricing of the 2018 Atlas for the US market that rivals Mazda CX-9, Ford Explorer, GMC Acadia, Honda Pilot and Hyundai Santa Fe. Beginning at $30,500 for the entry-level Atlas TSI S, it derives power from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes 235 hp and 350 Nm peak torque.

The standard equipment list consists of rear-view camera, stainless steel roof rails, LED headlamps and LED Daytime Running Lights and 18-inch aluminium wheels on the outside. Inside the cabin, customers will get access to 6.5-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink and Android Auto connectivity, cruise control, six-speakers and so on.

If the 2.0L is felt a bit under-powered, buyers can opt for a 3.6-litre V6 motor that delivers 276 horses and 360 Nm in the same trim. The 2WD 3.6L Atlas is priced $31,900 while the AWD model is quoted at $33,700. The Atlas S Launch is available in the 3.6-litre V6 as standard and has the 2WD version costing $33,500 and AWD at $33,500.

For the extra price, the additional features offered are 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Sirius XM Satellite Radio, Homelink garage door opener, panoramic sunroof, footwell lighting, etc. Starting at $33,590, the Atlas SE can be bought with either a 2.0L or bigger 3.6L mill.

VW Atlas

Over the S Launch, several included features are 10-way power adjustable and heated front seats. The 3.6L Atlas SE versions are priced between $34,990 and $36,790. Next up is the Atlas SE with Technology starting at $35,690 and as the trim suggest it comes loaded with plenty of latest driver assistance and in-car connectivity tech.

Some of the important features include Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Monitoring and Adaptive Cruise Control. It is also available in both 2.0L and 3.6L versions. Further up the range, the Atlas SEL carries a price of $39,160 and has been justified with inclusion of tow hitch and memory seats among several others.

The range-topping Atlas SEL Premium package is exclusively offered in the 3.6L V6 all-wheel drive specification at $48,490. It comprises of Fender 12-speaker, 480-watt audio system, VW’s 12.3-inch digital cockpit, LED taillights, heated rear seats, ambient lighting and 20-inch alloy wheels.
