Hero MotoCorp Ltd. today announced cricket icon Virat Kohli as its new brand ambassador, however, the timing of this announcement seems wrong as Team India faces massive loss from England in test series by 4-1
Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest-selling two-wheeler manufacturer, has appointed star cricketer Virat Kohli, the captain of the Indian National Cricket Team, as its new Brand Ambassador.
Virat’s association with the company will start with a new promotional campaign for the Hero Xtreme 200R. The campaign will feature Virat riding an Xtreme 200R. The new ad-series will be seen across TV, Print, Outdoor and Digital platforms. It will coincide with the commencement of the nationwide retails sales of the Xtreme 200R.
The new Hero Xtreme 200R has an ex-showroom price of Rs 89,900. Powering the new motorcycle is a 199.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 18.4 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed transmission.
As per the claimed figures, the motorcycle can reach 60 kmph from standstill in just 4.6 seconds and go on to hit a top speed of 114 kmph. Braking is courtesy of a 276 mm disc brake at front and a 220 mm disc brake at the rear. Single channel ABS is standard. The new model will rival the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
The braking power comes from 276 mm disc at front and 220 mm at the rear, the company is also offering single-channel ABS as standard. The Xtreme 200R will be offered in five different dual tone colours and it competes against Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V in India.
