The new Santro is the first Hyundai to feature AMT and comes with a number of premium features like touchscreen infotainment system
Hyundai’s brand new Santro will be entering the Indian market officially on October 23 and we got our first hands on the vehicle already. Since we are not allowed to shoot the car in Hyundai’s factory premises in Tamil Nadu, reserve your time for a comprehensive review later.
However, we can now give you first overview of what the new tallboy hatchback is all about in our latest video attached below. The 2018 Hyundai Santro is an entry-level model with a host of premium features and it does boast good performance under its belt.
Moreover, we can also say that it features the segment’s best driving dynamics wit AMT and CNG option. The Santro will be priced aggressively against competitors like Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Tata Tiago and Renault Kwid, and it is powered by a 1.1-litre four-cylinder petrol engine developing 69 PS and 99 Nm.
It is mated to the company’s first-ever AMT as well as a standard five speed transmission with claimed fuel economy of 20.3 kmpl. For extra mileage seekers, the CNG version with comparatively less performance of 59 PS and 84 Nm is claimed to return 30.5 km/kg.
