2022 Tata Tigor EV gets an extended range of 315 km along with new features and technologies including smartwatch connectivity and multi-mode regen

Tata Motors has today announced the launch of the updated Tigor EV in the domestic market with an extended range of 315 km (ARAI certified) along with new features and technologies. The 2022 Tata Tigor EV is priced at Rs. 12.49 lakh for the base XE variant, Rs. 12.99 lakh for the XT, Rs. 13.49 lakh for XZ+ and Rs. 13.75 lakh for XZ+ LUX variants (all prices, ex-showroom).

As for the features, the homegrown manufacturer has added leather seat upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and cruise control. In addition, a new exterior body shade known as Magnetic Red is also included. Speaking of the new launch, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.,

The updated electric compact sedan gains smart enhancements such as multi-mode regen, connected car technology (Zconnect), smartwatch connectivity, iTPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) and Tyre Puncture Repair Kit as standard across the range. Tata has further noted that the recently launched Tiago EV has garnered more than 20,000 bookings in a period of just a month since its launch.

Tata currently leads the passenger EV space with over 50,000 unit sales and 89 per cent market share on a YTD basis. In a similar fashion to the Nexon EV Prime, Tata has extended a free-of-cost feature update pack to the existing Tigor EV owners via software update and it will be available from December 20, 2022 across Tata’s authorised dealerships.

They can get upgraded with features such as multi-mode regen, iTPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) and Tyre Puncture Repair Kit. The existing XZ+ and XZ+ DT customers can also get a smartwatch connectivity upgrade. The new Tigor EV is equipped with a 26 kWh liquid-cooled high energy density IP67-rated Li-ion battery pack. It produces a maximum power output of 55 kW and a peak torque of 170 Nm.
