Volkswagen T-Roc is loaded with lots of advanced features and it is expected to come with 2.0 L diesel engine mated to auto or manual gearbox options

Volkswagen is planning to launch the T-Roc compact SUV later this year in India. The T-Roc made its global debut couple of years ago and it is based on the MQB platform. The compact SUV is positioned below the Tiguan in VW lineup and it measures 4,234 mm length, 1,819 mm width and 1573 mm height.

The wheelbase of T-Roc is 2,603 mm and the boot capacity is 445 litres, which can be expanded to 1,290 litres by folding down the second row as the company has given the option of 60:40 split option. The exterior design theme of T-Roc is different from other models as the front gets a big black-finished grille with the VW logo in the middle.

The headlamps extend towards grille as the compact SUV gets LED lights and the fog lamp design is also new. The LED DRL is positioned below it and the indicators are integrated into it. The lower part of the bumper gets black finish with fog lamps in it. Volkswagen has also given faux silver finish skid plates.

The side design is simple and the SUV took some inspirations from the Tiguan. The wheel arches bulge outwards and the compact SUV is offered with lots of different alloy wheels options. The rear gets LED tail lamps and the roof design towards the rear gives a coupe impression with an integrated spoiler.

Volkswagen is offering the T-Roc with dual-tone colour options also. The interior design theme of T-Roc is carried over from other Volkswagen models as the steering wheel is a three-spoke unit with lots of controls. The instrument cluster is fully digital and it is packed with lots of information, which can be customised also.

The centre console gets a 10.1-inch touch screen infotainment system with gesture control also. The SUV is packed with lots of advanced safety tech. Volkswagen is offering T-Roc with petrol and diesel engine options as the India-spec model is likely to come with 2.0 L diesel engine with 150 PS and 340 Nm, mated to 6-speed or 7 DSG.
