Toyota Glanza is a rebadged version of Baleno facelift, teased for the first time ahead of the launch on June 6

Toyota is going to launch the much-awaited Glanza (rebadged Suzuki Baleno) on June 6th in India and the company has released the first teaser. We can expect Toyota to reveal more details closer to the launch as it is going to be an important model for the Japanese manufacturer as they are yet to crack the volume segment in India.

The Glanza is unlikely to get any major design tweaks except for the Toyota logo at front and rear. It likely to carry the same headlamps, integrated LED DRLs and probably some changes to the bumper.

The side design is carried over from Maruti Suzuki Baleno as it retains the door mounted rear view mirrors with integrated blinkers in it. Instead of new, Toyota Glanza comes with the same machine cut design alloy wheels. The wheels are the 16-inchers on top-spec models and 15-inchers on lower variants.

The rear also gets same LED tail lamps as the Maruti Baleno as you can see clearly in the teaser video. Toyota might offer the Glanza with some new colour options with red as the primary colour for advertisement purposes. The interior is expected to be similar as the Baleno but the steering wheel might be slightly different from Maruti.

The Glanza will be loaded with features like touch screen infotainment system with Toyota software and it might miss Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, reverse camera with parking sensors, automatic headlamps, electronically controlled exterior mirrors, cooled glove box, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and more.

The engine lineup will be same from Baleno as the Glanza might come with new BSVI petrol engines. The 1.2 L dual-jet smart hybrid system producing 91 PS and 118 Nm. The 1.3-litre diesel engine from Fiat with 75 PS and 200 Nm won’t likely be introduced. The transmission options include 5-speed manual and CVT.
