Renault is developing a new MPV for Indian market and the test mule was spotted on public road for first time a few days ago, revealing some details about the MPV. IndianAutosBlog has published a rendering of production version of Renault MPV. The upcoming MPV is based on CMF-A+ platform which is a derivative of CMF-A platform of Kwid.
The design of the rendering has taken inspirations from current Renault models. The front gets signature Renault grille with bigger headlamps along with LED DRLs placed on the top of fog lamps. On the side, the wheel arches are bigger but the wheel size could be limited to either 14 or 15 inches depending on the variants and the side design is plain like most of the MPVs.

The French manufacturer is also focusing on interior space as third row knee room is important for the success of MPV among fleet segment buyers. Renault could offer only petrol engine option with new MPV and it could be the upgraded 1.0 L unit from Kwid with added turbocharger to increase power output.

Most of the MPV competitors offer diesel and petrol engines and majority of customers opt for diesel engine option because of the fuel efficiency and amble torque output. The cost of developing smaller diesel engine is expensive as most of the manufacturers are looking toward hybrid or electric future. We can expect the launch to happen later this year or early next year and it will likely be positioned below Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
