The upcoming third-generation Hyundai Elite i20 which is on test in international markets has been rendered
Folks at CarToq have rendered the upcoming all-new third generation Elite i20, currently undergoing the test. The Hyundai Elite i20 will replace the current second-gen model sometime in 2020 and has been rendered based on the spy shots of the i20 in international markets. The car spied is under heavy camouflage and the renderings give us an idea on how the future premium hatchback could look like.
Like the second-gen model which had no resemblance to the first-gen model, the third-gen model is also expected to be radically different and stylish looking as compared to the current model. Upfront will be a bigger grille with split headlamp design that gets sleek headlamps with integrated DRL and projector headlights. The bumper also has an aggressive design with large fog lamps.
At the side, there’s no major change while there’s no image of the back profile, but expect a change in the lamps and bumper. Inside the cabin will be the Hyundai’s BlueLink connected technology, a big touchscreen infotainment system and a host of new age safety and comfort features.
Hyundai will offer the new Elite i20 with both BS-VI petrol (1.2-litre) and diesel engine (1.4-litre) options, unlike Maruti Suzuki who announced to eliminate diesel engines from its portfolio. There can be a 1.0-turbo engine too as seen in the recently launched Venue SUV. The 1.0-litre turbocharged, three-cylinder petrol engine produces a maximum of 118 bhp and 172 Nm in the Venue.
The all-new Hyundai Elite i20 is expected to launch globally including the Indian market with a possible unveiling at the 2020 Auto Expo. Once launched, the new Elite i20 will compete against the upcoming Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Honda Jazz in the Indian market.
