The upcoming SUV from MG will be based on Baojun 530 and the engine lineup is expected to be shared with Jeep Compass

Baojun 530 SUV has been spied once again in India and this particular test mule is different as it comes with MG grille as earlier model get a twin-slat grille. The huge black grille gives a wider look for the SUV and the MG logo is placed in the middle is hidden but we have seen this similar design theme in other MG models also.

The front gets split headlamps setup which is common in new generation models as the upcoming Tata Harrier, Hyundai Santa Fe and Kona also follow this design theme. The conventional headlamps position is occupied by LED DRLs while the projector headlamp is positioned lower, which will help it to give better illumination.

The test mule is heavily camouflaged and it comes with alloy wheels. The side design is similar to the teaser image, which was showcased in China during the presentation. The rear gets LED tail lamps along with a huge reflector and the company is expected to give twin tailpipes. The SUV will come with integrated spoiler and skid plates at both ends also.

The interior is expected to be upmarket as the company is benchmarking the SUV against Hyundai Tucson and Baojun 530 might come with black colour and silver inserts in the dashboard. The quality of materials is expected to be good and initially, the SUV will be offered in 5 seat configuration as the 7 seater model will reach the market later.
