7 seater wagon-r

Maruti Suzuki is undeniably the king of small car segment in India with its wide range of products offering affordability and practicality. One of the very popular and bestselling models from the brand is the Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R that has been in business for quite some time. Now, the automaker wants to roll out an MPV based on the tallboy hatchback and it is expected to be launched by mid 2018 here. Suzuki has already displayed the Wagon-R MPV concept at GIIAS in Indonesia and it drew pretty good attention.

This car will arrive as a seven seater model and it would be the most affordable MPV of India once launched. Upon arrival, it will be positioned below Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and will play key role in enhancing Maruti’s share in the highly competitive UV segment of domestic market. Expect the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R MPV to carry several design similarities with the hatchback sibling.

As the concept model was displayed, the MPV will come sporting identical front fascia as the hatch. It would feature similar headlamps sans, horizontally positioned chrome slated front grille and a large bumper with large black air intake slated horizontally. The fog lamp housings will come wearing blackened appearance they will feature neatly positioned round shaped fog lamps. It will come longer and taller than the hatchback. The concept model didn’t have LED daytime running lights, turn indicator integrated ORVMs. However, we expect these features will make their way into the production model.

Inside the cabin, Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R MPV will come sporting a third row seat ensuring seating capacity for seven occupants. It is hard to say whether, Maruti Suzuki will offer a touchscreen infotainment system inside the cabin of this car. But, if it offers such upmarket features, the car will certainly lure many buyers. Expect it to offer decent space and comfort.

Transmission options for the car would include a manual gearbox and an AGS as well. On pricing front too, it would arrive very competitive.
