Maruti Suzuki MPV will be introduced on July 5, 2023 and it will be sold exclusively through Nexa premium dealerships
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) will host the debut of an all-new premium MPV on July 5, 2023 and it will go on sale soon after. It could be dubbed the Engage and it will be the badge-engineered version of the Toyota Innova Hycross. The premium MPV will be slotted above the XL6 as it will act as the flagship offering from the brand.
It will be retailed through the Nexa dealership only underlining its upmarket nature. A few days ago, we showed you the design patents of the grille, headlamp and tail lamp of the upcoming model before the official announcement of the debut came in. The MPV was also spotted testing on public roads as the prototype was caught wearing camouflage.
Now, the first undisguised spy images of the C-segment MPV have surfaced on the internet confirming some of the details we already know. It gets design updates akin to the Grand Vitara to differentiate itself from its donor. The front fascia gains dual horizontal chrome grille slats and of which, one extends to connect the LED headlamp cluster.
It has a triple-tier lighting arrangement seen on cars sold through Nexa outlets while the hexagonal grille has different inserts compared to the Innova Hycross. The bumper section, horizontal LED Daytime Running Lights, side profile, air intake, alloy wheel design and even the skid plate look similar to its donor.
With no dimensional changes, the Maruti Suzuki premium MPV will be offered in a seven-seater layout and whether an eight-seater configuration will be available or not is yet unknown. The roofline, rear bumper and tailgate will be carried over but the wraparound tail lamps will likely have Nexa’s LED lighting signature.
The cabin could feature minor cosmetic changes but the equipment list will remain identical to the new-gen Innova. It will comprise a floating touchscreen infotainment system, a layered dashboard, ADAS technology, a panoramic sunroof, etc. As for the performance, a 2.0L NA petrol and a 2.0L strong hybrid petrol engine will be utilised.
