The competition in the sub-4m compact SUV segment in India is heating up. After Mahindra recently launched the all-new XUV300 to take on the products like Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, India’s second-largest carmaker, Hyundai will launch the all-new Venue in the same segment.
Which one is the best on the paper? Well, here is a spec comparison between the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and upcoming Hyundai Venue and later we will bring a detailed spec comparison of Venue with XUV300.
The upcoming Hyundai Venue will be offered with three engine options in the Indian market. Being a sub-4m vehicle, Hyundai will take the tax advantage by putting petrol engine below 1.2-litre capacity and diesel engine below 1.5-litre capacity just like all the other cars in the segment.
Hyundai will offer a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces a maximum of 83 PS and peak torque of 115 Nm. This engine option will be available only with a 5-speed manual transmission. There will be a 1.4-litre diesel engine that churns out a maximum of 90 PS and 220 Nm of peak torque. This engine option will only offer a 6-speed manual transmission.

There will be a high-performance 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine too. This will be the one of most powerful engine in the line-up and will provide a maximum power of 120 PS and peak torque of 172 Nm. This engine option will be equipped with 7-speed dual clutch transmission and a 6 Speed manual transmission.
The Ford EcoSport also offers three engine options. There is a new 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated Dragon Series petrol engine that churns out a maximum of 110 PS and peak torque of 140 Nm. The 1.5-litre diesel engine in the EcoSport produces a maximum of 100 PS and 205 Nm.
The EcoSport also offers a 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine that produces a maximum of 125 PS and 170 Nm. Ford provides a conventional automatic transmission with the 1.5-litre petrol version.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, the best-selling vehicle in the segment offers a 1.3-litre diesel engine that produces a maximum of 90 PS and 200 Nm. It gets a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT automatic transmission.
The Hyundai brand has always been known for offering a long list of features. The Hyundai Venue provides a range of first-in-segment features. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza offers features like dual front airbags, ABS+EBD, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto and lacks on many premium features its other two rivals offers.
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza measures 3,995mm X 1,790mm X 1,640mm while the Ford EcoSport offers 3,998mm X 1,765mm X 1,647mm. The upcoming Hyundai Venue offers dimensions of 3,995mm X 1,770mm X 1,590mm. The Hyundai Venue offers a wheelbase of 2,500mm which is same as the Vitara Brezza while the Ford EcoSport offers a wheelbase of 2,519mm.

The Hyundai Venue likely to be priced smartly in the segment. The Venue offers futuristic features like a wireless phone charger and inbuilt air purifier, which is unique to the segment and will attract a lot of consumers.
