Upcoming New Hyundai Santro Completely Revealed In New Spy Shots

Hyundai has already dispatched the initial batch of Santro to dealerships and the launch will take place on October 23rd

Hyundai is going to launch the new Santro on October 23rd in India and the pre-bookings for the new model officially opened last week. The booking amount of new Santro is Rs. 11,000 and the hatchback will be introduced in a total of 9 new variants. The company has already dispatched the initial batch of Santro to dealerships across the country.

The top end Asta variant of Santro has been spotted at a dealership and the model is finished in Polar White colour. Hyundai offers 7 colours options with Santro – Star Dust, Marina Blue, Fiery Red, Imperial Beige, Typhoon Silver, Polar White and Diana Green. The interior is finished in black and beige colour with aluminium finish on the steering wheel.

The gear lever is integrated into the dashboard like Grand i10 to liberate more space. Hyundai has packed the Santro with lots of features like seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android, multi-function three-spoke steering wheel, rear AC vents and more.

The new Santro is based on the revised HA platform of previous generation i10, the company has made lots of changes to make it better and it is made of 63 per cent high strength steel as the hatchback need to pass the upcoming crash test. Hyundai has also focused on reducing NVH levels on Santro.

The hatchback is powered by a new 1.1 L petrol engine producing 69 PS of power and 99 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to 5-speed manual and Santro will be the first model from Hyundai to be equipped with AMT transmission. The official fuel efficiency figures reveal that both models return 20.3 kmpl.

Hyundai is also offering a factory fitted CNG model of Santro and it produces 59 PS and 84 Nm. According to ARAI, the CNG variant returns 30.5 km/kg. The new Santro retains the tall boy design of the earlier model and the design took inspirations from Grand i10. The upcoming hatchback price starts from Rs. 3.87 lakh and Rs. 5.38 for Sportz CNG (both prices, Ex-Showroom).
