Upcoming Hyundai Elantra spied; the sixth generation model is already on sale in the South Korean market

The all new Hyundai Elantra is all set to launch in India. Expected to be launched next month the car’s test mule have been spotted testing in Chennai. Painted in Blue the stylish executive sedan’s image have been posted by an Automotive India forum member. The new Elantra comes as a suave and much more stylish unit compare to the outgoing model.

The new generation Hyundai Elantra sports a sharp appearance. It features large hexagonal front grille with chrome garnished horizontal slats. The sleek headlamp clusters get projector units, integrated LED daytime running lights. Apart from that the car also boasts LED taillights, 16 inch sporty alloy wheels, side turning indicator integrated ORVMs and shark fin antenna.

Inside the cabin new Elantra features a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto. The sporty black theme and upmarket materials used in the upholstery enhance the appeal. To give the interior a premium touch Hyundai took the design cue from the more premium Sonata and Genesis.

The India spec new Hyundai Elantra will be available in both the petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol model is powered by a 2.0 litre four cylinder MPI engine. It churns out 149 PS of peak power and 183 Nm of peak torque. The diesel variant on the other hand would be powered by a 1.6 litre four cylinder VGT engine. It is capable to generate 136 PS of peak power and 306 Nm of peak torque.

The new Elantra would get a 6 speed manual, 6 speed automatic and a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox on transmission front. The new Elantra comes as a safer car. It has been built with Advanced High Strength Steel, which makes the car 32% stronger than the outgoing model. Among the safety features it gets Autonomous Emergency Braking, High Beam Assist, Blind Spot Detector, Lane Change Assist, Reverse Parking Camera with guidelines.
