The new Honda XRE 300 ADV bike will take on the rivals like the RE Himalayan and the BMW G 310 GS

After launching the CB200X in India, Honda is now planning to expand its ADV portfolio in the country and is expected to soon launch the new Honda XRE 300 ADV in the market. First patented in India in 2017, this new ADV bike will rival the bikes like the RE Himalayan, BMW G 310 GS, and the KTM 390 Adventure. The test mule of the new XRE 300 was recently spied testing in the country thus hinting at a launch soon.

The new Honda XRE 300 ADV shares its design with the ADV Africa Twin and is offered with similar colour options for the buyers. The XRE 300 ADV however is a proper off-roader and boasts a high ground clearance along with a long-travel suspension setup. It also features strong cuts and creases on the side fairings that give it a strong stance.

As mentioned before, the bike gets long-travel 245 mm telescopic suspension at the front and a Pro-link 225 mm mono-shock setup at the rear. The XRE 300 also gets 21-inch spoke wheels at the front, and 18-inch spoke wheels at the rear. To further boost the capabilities, the bike also gets a high-mounted exhaust and front beak along with a high seating position.

On the features front, the bike is offered with a fully digital instrument console, dual-channel ABS, electric start, and full-LED lighting. The fuel tank capacity is rated at 13.8 litres. The Brazilian-spec models ride on Metzeler Enduro 3 Sahara Tyres.

The bike is powered by a 291 cc, single-cylinder air-cooled motor that churns out a peak power and torque output of 25.5 bhp and 27 Nm respectively. It comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and offers strong low-end and mid-range performance. We are expecting it to be offered with the same engine and specifications in the Indian market.

honda XRE 300 Adventure-3From what we know so far, the new Honda XRE 300 Adv is likely to be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023 and will be priced at around Rs 2.5-3 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Honda is however yet to confirm the official launch timeline of this new Adv in the country.
