For India, Ford will introduce new Dragon series engine on the Figo facelift and it will likely adorn the same exterior changes you see here
Ford has officially introduced Figo facelift in South Africa. The Figo is manufactured in India and exported to African country. But the design changes on South African model will most likely be identical to the Indian version. At the front, Ford has given new larger headlamps which are similar to the current ones and grille is finished in chrome but we can expect black finish for lower versions.
The side design is similar to the current model and Indian version will get new alloy wheels. Since the SA version rides on small 14 inch wheels, it looks rather small. Ford has given new bumper at the rear which is finished in black and body colour to give two tone finish along with tweaked tail lamps rounding out the exterior changes.
The interior of Figo is similar to Freestyle which is basically the jacked up version of Figo. The American manufacturer has given 6.5 inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. We can also expect revised instrument cluster for Figo as the current one is plain with big dials.
Ford will pack Figo with features like climate control, multi-function steering wheel, automatic wiper and headlamps, cruise control, 6 airbags, ABS, EBD and more. The dimensions will continue to be same for Figo as the interior is already spacious. But the quality is expected to be improved.
In India, Ford will introduce new Dragon series engine for Figo replacing current petrol unit. The 1.2 L Dragon series petrol engine produces 95 hp of power at 6,500 rpm and 120 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. The 1.5 L diesel engine makes 100 hp of power and 215 Nm of torque. These engines are mated to 5 speed manual gearbox. Ford will officially introduce Figo facelift by the end of this year or in early 2019.
