Ford Figo Facelift

Ford’s Figo hatchback has earned pretty good response in the Indian market within short span after its launch here. Despite tough competition from the well established rivals like Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10, the Figo has been able to grab attention of the domestic buyers and it also managed to fetch a consistent sales number as well. Now, the American automaker is gearing up to launch a facelifted version of the hatchback in the country that would boast several exterior and interior updates along with new engines as well. Test mule of the facelifted Figo hatchback has been spotted in the country already. Expect the car to come sporting significant design change including a new front grille with plenty of chrome garnishing, projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights. The front bumper too will arrive with a revised appearance with blackened fog lamp housings and a sleek black cladding as well. Moving to the side profile of the facelifted Figo hatchback, it gets new design alloy wheels. The basic silhouette remains same as the current model. There will be turn indicator integrated ORVMs, blackened glass area along with a muscular tone. The door handles could arrive wearing chrome garnishing. Moving to the back of the car, it would get identical shaped taillights like the current model. Apart from that, there would be revised a rear bumper as well. Not only exterior, inside the cabin too, Ford Figo facelift will arrive donning several updates. The most significant change would be the introduction of new touchscreen infotainment system at the centre console that is missing in the current model. Apart from that, it would boast multifunction steering wheel, analog and digital display consisting instrument cluster, a sporty colour theme. Seat and upholstery materials too will come with improved quality material. However, space on offer would remain same as the present model as dimensionally there will be no change. On the powertrain Ford Figo facelift is likely to receive the new petrol engines from Dragon family. In that case, the 1.2-litre engine and the 1.5-litre motor are likely to be replaced by the new Dragon series petrol units. As Ford claims, the new all-aluminium engines come 10% lightweight and gets individual ignition coils for each cylinder, spark plugs centralized in combustion chamber and hydraulic tappets with rotor arms. On the diesel front, the current model’s 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine will continue in the facelifted Figo. The car is likely to deliver improved performance and better mileage as well. Ford Aspire Facelift

Ford introduced the Aspire sedan in one of the highly competitive segment of Indian market that is the compact sedan category. With its muscular stance, advanced and impressive amount of safety features along with efficient powerful engines, Ford Aspire has been able to garner attention of the buyers in the country within short period after its launch. Now, the American auto manufacturer is readying a facelift version of the sedan alongside the Figo facelift. Ford EcoSport Facelift

Ford EcoSport has been one of the most successful and most popular products from the American brand in India. Since its introduction in the domestic market, this muscular compact SUV has been able to grab attention of the buyers. Despite tough competition from Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Hyundai Creta, Ford EcoSport managed to fetch consistent sales number in the country. Ford Endeavour Facelift

Within weeks after launch, the car managed to fetch an impressive sales result despite tough competition from Toyota Fortuner. The stylish masculine design, premium features inside the cabin along with range of advanced technologies and powerful engine has helped the SUV to become appealing to the buyers in the segment. Now, Ford is working on a facelift version of this car that is expected to launch in India sometime next year. Test mule of the Ford Endeavour facelift has been spied testing in Australia couple of months back and the car appeared identical to the current model. Therefore, we can expect the facelifted model will receive minor design tweaks and interior updates as well. Speaking about its design, the Ford Endeavour facelift would come with a redesigned F150 inspired wider front grille. The headlamps too could arrive with an updated look and there will be a revised bumper as well. Ford Kuga

Ford Kuga is going to be the next big product from the American brand in Indian market. This muscular and attractive looking SUV has already earned pretty good success in the European market. Inspired by the success of EcoSport and Endeavour, Ford aims to increase its market share in the highly competitive and highly in demand Indian SUV market and Kuga is going to play a key role in that strategy. Also, this will bridge the gap between the EcoSport and Endeavour in Ford India’s portfolio. Upon launch, the Ford Kuga will compete with the rivals like Mahindra XUV500 and Hyundai Tucson. Speaking about its design, Kuga carries contemporary Ford design language. It gets a hexagonal black front grille with thick horizontal slats. Ford Premium Hatchback (B563)

Under this strategy, the automaker is preparing to roll out a premium hatchback that will compete with strong rivals like Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz. The premium hatchback segment has seen quite positive response in last couple of years and Ford too wants to grab a sizeable share in the category. The Ford premium hatchback will be based on the new B563 platform that the American auto major has developed specially for the emerging markets like India, Brazil etc. Expect the premium hatchback to get design inspiration from the Fiesta and upon arrival, it will be positioned above the Figo. Considering the fact that Fiesta is mainly developed for developed markets like European countries, launching it would force Ford to keep pricing higher affecting the sales. In that case, this new premium hatch is going to be Ford’s bet. Ford claims this platform is more cost effective compared to Fiesta B299 platform. The auto manufacturer is also readying a midsize sedan that will share the same platform and likely several elements from the premium hatchback. Upon launch, this car will be positioned above the Ford Aspire compact sedan and it will lock horns with rivals like Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Honda City. Expect this sedan to arrive in the country sometime in 2020. The midsize sedan is a very tough and highly competitive segment in the domestic market. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Honda City are already well established in the category and it won’t be an easy task for Ford to make its own space here. The car needs to be designed attractively and it must have upmarket features that are well capable of luring the buyers. Also, efficient and powerful powertrain along with competitive pricing are going to play important role in making this car an attractive package to the buyers.
