Fiat Avventura Urban Cross was first displayed at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo and could get the powerful 1.4-litre T Jet found in Abarth Punto
Fiat took an unique policy at 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo, by showcasing little yet exciting models. At the Fiat pavilion the most attractive car was certainly the Avventura Urban Cross concept, which garnered appreciation from everyone. Now the auto manufacturer has a production ready model in its stable, which comes as a stylish crossover, and it has been spied on Indian roads being tested.
The Fiat Avventura comes as an already tough and stylish looking model, and by being based on that car the Urban Cross comes as more appealing. It has a stylish appearance which is aggressive as well. The Fiat Avventura Urban Cross sports some upmarket features inside the cabin, which altogether with the stylish exterior appeals to the urban customers.
Though Fiat is still tight lipped about the powertrain of the car, but the Avventura Urban Cross is likely to come powered by the same performance oriented engine available in the Fiat Abarth Punto hot hatch. The 1.4 litre T-Jet turbocharged petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and churns out 140 hp of peak power at 5,500 rpm and 210 Nm of peak torque in between 2,000 – 4,000 rpm. The sporty looking Fiat Avventura Urban Cross car is expected to hit the Indian market sometime during this festive season.

Reports suggest that, the Fiat Avventura Urban Cross will come drawing power from the same 1.4 litre (1,368 cc) T-Jet turbocharged petrol engine, which does duty under the hood of the Fiat hot hatch Abarth Punto. This engine is well capable to churn out 140 hp of peak power at 5,500 rpm and 210 Nm of peak torque in between 2,000 – 4,000 rpm. A 5-speed manual gearbox is expected to do the transmission duty in the car. Power is sent to the front wheels and the car delivers 17.1 kmpl of fuel economy. So far, the car not only comes powerful, but economic as well.
Stylish Design
The Fiat Avventura Urban Cross is based on the Avventura, but it looks more refined and stylish compared to Avventura. Design wise, the car sports wrap around large headlamps, integrated LED daytime running lights, which are complemented by new and large front grille, which looks aggressive and stylish with the chrome trim. The front bumper comes with a muscular and aggressive appearance with a wide air intake, chrome garnished fog lamps at both sides.
The side profile bears side body cladding, sporty alloy wheels with red trims, turn indicator integrated wing mirrors, blackened glass area, roof rail. The rear fascia also comes quite impressive with a roof spoiler, large vertically positioned LED taillights at both sides of the rear windshield. The rear bumper too comes beefy and muscular. So far, the entire car posses a sporty look and charming design, which grabs attention easily.
Dimensionally Compact
Dimensionally, the Fiat Avventura Urban Cross measures 3,989 mm in length, 1,706 mm in width, and 1,542 mm in height. The car also posses 2,510 mm of wheelbase and 210 mm of impressive ground clearance which ensures the car can tackle the rough roads pretty easily. The 280 litres of boot space ensures the Fiat Avventura Urban Cross offers you plenty of space at rear for the luggage.
Sporty Interior
Fiat Avventura Urban Cross not only comes with an impressive exterior, but the interior also looks sporty. The concept model was showcased with a dual tone interior theme, with pink and black combination, and silver accents at the dashboard and steering wheel. It is not sure, whether, Fiat will continue the same colour theme inside the cabin, but expect a dual tone interior to come when it gets launched.
The cabin sports a multifunction steering wheel, large dials and a LCD display at the instrument cluster, leather upholstery and seat covers. The centre console gets a piano black finish and comes with a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system flanked by buttons and knobs. The steering wheel and dashboard comes with silver accents. The gear lever and pedals come finished in chrome, which give the car’s cabin a sporty look. The cabin comes quite spacious indeed offering comfort to the occupants.
Expect a Sub-10 Lakh Price tag
Expect the Fiat Avventura Urban Cross to come priced in between Rs. 6.57 lakhs to Rs. 9.95 lakhs (ex showroom, Delhi). The car will be pitted against Hyundai i20 Active, Volkswagen Cross Polo, and Toyota Etios Cross.
