The Indian car market is booming with activity. We have already seen many new car launches and now, we have at least 10 upcoming cars in the next 1 month or so. These include some really much-awaited models like the new Hyundai Santro, new Maruti Ertiga, and the Mahindra XUV700. Let’s take a look at these upcoming new models –

1. New Hyundai Santro

The Hyundai Santro nameplate is about to make a comeback. Slated for a launch next month, the new Santro is currently known as AH2, which is its internal codename. The new Hyundai Santro will be underpinned by a modified version of the old i10’s platform. Powering the new Hyundai Santro will be an updated version of the 1.1-litre petrol engine that was available on the Santro Xing and the i10. It will also have an optional AMT. The new Hyundai Santro is one of the most awaited upcoming cars in India. Prices should start at Rs 4 lakh.

2. Ford Aspire facelift

Ford India will launch an updated version of the Aspire on 4th October. It will have an updated front-end that will feature a sleeker grille, updated headlamps, and a bolder bumper. The rear bumper will be new and so will be the alloy wheels for the top-end variant. On the inside, it will get a SYNC3 infotainment unit that will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The top-end model will feature 6 airbags. Starting price are likely to be roughly Rs 5 lakh. The current 1.2-litre petrol engine will be replaced with the 1.2 Dragon motor that made its debut on the Freestyle. The diesel engine will be carried over untouched.

3. New Honda CR-V

Honda Cars India will launch the fifth generation of the CR-V on October 9. For the first time in the history of the CR-V, the new generation model will offer a diesel engine. It will also have a 7 seat configuration. The new Honda CR-V will go on to rival the Volkswagen Tiguan. The three-row seating configuration and the highly fuel-efficient diesel engine should help the new SUV find more buyers. Prices are expected to start at approximately Rs 25 lakh.

4. Mahindra XUV700

The Mahindra XUV700 is another one of the most awaited upcoming cars in India. Basically, Mahindra will launch the G4 Ssangyong Rexton in India under the XUV700 badge. It will be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that will come mated to an automatic transmission. The XUV700 will become the most expensive model in Mahindra’s range. Expect the prices to start at roughly Rs 22 lakh. Launch should happen by the end of next months.

5. Tata Tiago JTP

After having launched the Tiago NRG, Tata Motors will now come up with the Tiago JTP. The new variant of the company’s budget hatchback will become the most affordable hot hatchback in the country. It will be powered by the Nexon’s 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that produces a maximum power of 110 PS along with a peak torque of 150 Nm. The Tiago JTP will be developed in cooperation with Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives. The suspension will be tuned to match the sporty engine. The car is expected to be priced at Rs 6 lakh.

6. Datsun Go facelift

Datsun India will launch an updated version of the Go hatchback. The Datsun Go facelift will have a refreshed front fascia that will carry a bolder grille and an updated bumper. The interior will also get some important updates in the form of a touchscreen infotainment unit and split front seats. The Indonesian-spec Datsun Go facelift comes with a CVT but the Indian market is unlikely to get it owing to the cost-sensitive nature of our country’s market.

7. Datsun Go+ facelift

Like the Go facelift, the Go+ will also get a revised styling and new features. It will carry a similar front grille and a new bumper. However, its interior is unlikely to get the touchscreen unit. The current 1.2-litre petrol engine will be carried over unchanged. Both the Go twins are likely to receive structural reinforcements to enable compliance with upcoming safety norms. Launch is likely to happen by the mid of next month.

8. Isuzu MU-X facelift

India will soon receive the mid-life facelift of the Isuzu MU-X. The MU-X started its life as the MU-7 and was replaced recently with the bolder looking MU-X. However, in spite of being a pretty well-sorted offering, the MU-X has failed to capture the attention of premium SUV buyers. The company will be now hoping to see a more positive result with the launch of the MU-X facelift.

9. New Maruti Ertiga

Maruti Suzuki is about to launch an all-new Ertiga in the fast-growing MPV market. The new Maruti Ertiga will launch next month and will be a larger, safer, and better-equipped car. It will be underpinned by the HEARTECT platform and will make use the new K15B 1.5-litre petrol engine that made its debut on the Maruti Ciaz facelift. Prices are expected to start at Rs 7 lakh.

10. Ford Figo facelift
