13Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Facelift

Maruti Suzuki has received immense success with its Ciaz midsize sedan. The stylish sedan has become a premium offering from the brand and currently it is sold through the Indo-Japanese automaker’s Nexa retail chain. Compared to its rivals that have been updated in recent times, Ciaz comes lacking several modern design elements that are crucial in making it upmarket and stylish. Now, the auto major is working on a facelifted version of the Ciaz and the test mule has been spotted already.

The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is likely to be launched in the domestic market during mid 2018. Expect it to come wearing a fresh and more upmarket and stylish design that will grab attention at the very first glimpse. It is likely to feature a new front grille with plenty of chrome garnishing. There would be sharper headlamps with projector lamps and integrated LED daytime running lights. Front bumper and fog lamp housings too will come with revised appearance.

At the side profile new Ciaz would bear similar stance as the current model. However, there would be some sharper character lines adding zing to the model and new design alloy wheels too will be there alongside turn indicator integrated ORVMs, blackened glass area and a nicely curved roofline. Rear profile too will get LED taillights, sleek chrome bar running between the lamps and a revised bumper. Overall, the entire car will appear as very stylish and attractive from every angle.

Not only exterior, inside the cabin, 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will come wearing a revised appearance. It comes with a multifunction steering wheel, updated instrument cluster with analog and digital display, an updated touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Seat and upholstery will don upmarket quality materials. Space would remain same as there won’t be any dimensional change.

On the powertrain front, the upcoming 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.4-litre petrol engine will be able to churn out 91 bhp of peak power at 6,000 rpm and 130 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The 1.3-litre diesel engine with SHVS micro-hybrid technology will kick out 89 bhp of peak power and 200 Nm of peak torque at 1,750 rpm. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed automatic unit.
