Codenamed as Benelli BJ150-31 naked streetfighter will focus on Asian markets; India launch unlikely
Benelli is preparing its upcoming naked streetfighter that is codenamed as BJ150-31 and the bike’s patent design has been leaked online. The bike has been designed keeping the Asian market in focus. However, its India launch is very unlikely and the model is expected to be unveiled sometime next year.
The Benelli BJ150-31 naked streetfighter appears with a very sculpted, muscular and aggressive stance. The bike sports a 2017 KTM Duke 390 inspired sharp looking headlamp with vertical split flanked with sleek LED turn indicators. Expect the production model to receive an all-digital instrument cluster and the handlebar comes offering greater control to the rider. The rear view mirrors come inspired by the Benelli TNT 150 available in China.
A sculpted and chunky fuel tank with big shrouds on both sides enhances the bike’s masculine appeal further and there are split seats with the rider seat positioned lower offering the rider comfortable experience and control over the machine. A sleek and narrow rear profile gets LED taillight, LED turn indicators and a chrome plated chunky exhaust muzzle will be there as well.
Power source for the Benelli BJ150-31 is a 150 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. Expect the engine to churn out generous amount of power and torque output along with impressive mileage. There is an engine protector at the bottom of the bike and it shares the alloy wheels with the Benelli TNT 150. For braking duty, the Benelli BJ150-31 will sport disc brakes on both the wheels and suspension duty will be done by USD front forks along with rear monoshock absorber.
Speaking about Benelli’s plan for Indian market, the brand is currently testing a cruiser and a maxi scooter in the country. As we have reported earlier, the Benelli MotoBi-250 Patagonian Eagle cruiser has been spotted testing here and it could hit the showrooms sometime next year. The Benelli Zafferano maxi-scooter has been spotted testing on Indian roads as well. However, it is not sure, if the 250 cc premium scooter will be launched here or not.
