The Aprilia SR150 Premium Scooter has been spotted in Pune sans any camouflage. With the launch scheduled in August this year the scooter is going through the last phase of testing. The premium scooter was unveiled at the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year in February.

The premium scooter segment is still growing in Indian market and at its early stage at present. Vespa has launched its range of 125 cc and 150 cc premium scooters Vespa SXL and Vespa VXL in the country earlier. But these scooters are yet to grab the market. Moreover Indian customers still rely on budget scooters.

In that case it is really tough to say how successful the upcoming Aprilia SR150 can become. The premium scooter will be manufactured at the Piaggio India’s Baramati plant alongside the Vespa models.

Overall the scooter sports a sharp appearance. The suspension duty is done by telescopic fork at the front while the rear comes equipped with shock absorber. Braking duty is done by 220 mm disc at the front while the rear features 140 mm drum brake.

The engine kicks out 11.4 bhp of peak power at 7000 rpm and 11.5 Nm of peak torque. The SR150 is expected to be priced around Rs. 1 lakh (ex showroom), which puts it bit higher than the Vespa models which come ranging between Rs. 77308 to Rs. 88696 (ex showroom, Pune).
