2019 will witness new arrivals in the seven-seater segment targeting the family-oriented buyers as well as SUV enthusiasts

The seven-seaters in India have always been popular. Credits have to given to the big Indian families who prefer to travel together. While there are many choices when it comes to seven-sears in the Indian market including the Toyota Innova and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, many new models are expected to be launched in the market soon. Here are top 5 upcoming 7-seater vehicles coming to India this year.

1. Renault RBC

The Renault RBC has been spied multiple times in the Indian market and it will be launched in the second half of this year. The mass-segment vehicle will be based on the Renault Kwid platform and will get similar styling. The RBC will be an entry-level 7-seater and will take on the likes of Datsun Go Plus in the market. The vehicle will get a strong design like the muscular Kwid and the face will be inspired by Renault’s global family design.

The RBC is expected to get the same 1.0-litre petrol engine from the Kwid but it will be turbocharged to produce more power. No diesel engine is expected in the upcoming RBC. Just like the Kwid, it will get an AMT automatic transmission as an option. The car will be priced at around Rs. 4.5 lakhs and will be one of the most affordable 7-seater vehicles in the market.

2. Tata H7X

Tata will soon launch the long-wheelbase version of the Harrier in the Indian market. It is codenamed as the H7X and has been caught testing on the Indian roads. The H7X will be quite different when it comes to styling from the Harrier. However, it will get the same Omega Arc platform. As per Tata, the H7X will be quite long and will have ample room for the last row passengers. The vehicle will be aimed at the families and the styling will not be as aggressive as the Harrier.

Instead of the swooping down roofline, the H7X will get a straighter roofline to give more headroom to the rear passengers. The engine and transmission will remain the same. The H7X will get powered by the same 2.0-litre KRYOTEC engine that develops a maximum of 140 PS and 350 Nm in the Harrier. The H7X may get a more powerful version of the engine.

3. Mahindra XUV 300 Plus/XUV 400

Mahindra will soon launch the XUV 300 in the Indian market. The all-new car is based on the SsangYong Tivoli platform and will get a long list of features. Mahindra will also bring in the long-wheelbase version of the XUV 300 later this year. The long-wheelbase version of the SsangYong Tivoli is already on sale in the international markets and it gets extra boot space. However, in India, the extra boot space will be utilised to put an extra row of seat.

The name of the upcoming SUV has not been confirmed yet but it has been caught testing with the XUV 300 under heavy camouflage. It is expected to share the engines with the Mahindra XUV 300. Both 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine options will be offered with the long wheelbase version of the XUV 300.

4. Mahindra TUV 300 Plus

Mahindra launched the TUV 300 Plus in the Indian market last year. It is an extended body version of the TUV 300 and offers quite a large amount of space inside. Around the festive season this year, Mahindra will launch the facelifted version of the TUV 300 and alongside the facelifted version of the TUV 300 Plus will be launched too.

It will be a mid-life facelift for the TUV 300 and major changes are not expected. It may get a few changes in the front bumper and a few changes in the body mouldings. Even the engines are expected to remain the same.

5. Ford Endeavour

The Ford Endeavour is the flagship SUV of the brand in India. Last year, the Ford Endeavour received updates in the Thailand market. The SUV was also spied on the Indian roads last year carrying the similar updates. Ford will launch the facelifted Endeavour in the Indian market later this year and it gets changes like a new grille, new HID headlamps, new fog lamps, and new bumpers.

It also gets new alloy wheels and a silver skid plate at the front. The upcoming Endeavour also gets updated interiors with a new theme and softer materials. The infotainment system will also be updated with the latest SYNC 3 system. The engine options will remain similar to the current model in India.
