The Santro comes with benefits of up to Rs. 31,000 and it is available only this month
Hyundai is offering the Santro with benefits of up to Rs. 31,000, which includes Rs. 11,000 as cash discount and Rs. 20,000 as exchange bonus. The Santro was launched in October 2018 and it is currently the entry-level model of the company in India as they have discounted the Eon as sales of the hatchback were poor.
The company has managed to sell 6906 units of Santro last month compared to 8280 in March 2019 as sales witnessed minor negative growth of 17 per cent. Hyundai has already sold more than 50,000 units of the Santro in India and the Korean manufacturer is expected to increase the price of the hatchback soon.
During the launch, they announced that first 50,000 customers will get the Santro on the special price. The Santro is based on the updated platform of Grand i10 and the engineers have made some changes to the platform as the hatchback need to meet the upcoming crash test norms.
The hatchback is made from 63 per cent high strength steel and the Santro measures 3,610 mm length, 1,645 mm width, 1560 mm height and 2,400 mm wheelbase. The exterior design theme of Santro took inspirations from the Grand i10 as the front gets signature grille of Hyundai along with swept-back headlamps and big fog lamps.
The side design is simple and the company is not offering alloy wheels even on the top-spec model while the rear comes with new tail lamps and bumper. Hyundai has packed the Santro with lots of features like touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, reverse camera, rear AC vents and more.
The hatchback comes with safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert, seat-belt alert and more. Currently, Hyundai is offering only engine option with Santro as it is powered by 1.1 L four-cylinder petrol engine with 69 PS of power and 99 Nm of torque, mated to 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox.
