UM Motorcycles launching exclusive riding club; it is likely to be named as ‘ROBS’focusing to built close relationships with customers
American two wheeler manufacturer UM Motorcycle is focusing to built close relationships with its customers in India. In an attempt to do that, UM Motorcycle is all set to launch an exclusive riders club in the country sometime in October, and the club could be named as ‘ROBS’. The riding club will promote and create awareness about the brand.
The UM Motorcycles is slowly expanding its network in Indian market, and it has recently set up its newest dealership in Mumbai, which is the fifth in the country. Also the company eyes to launch more new dealerships across the country.
The Indian two wheeler market is growing pretty fast, and in recent times, the two wheeler market has surpassed the sales of the car sales as well. Indian customers are more and more opting toward the global brands and premium motorcycles. The American motorcycle brand has set its eye to grab a fare share in the two wheeler segment with its range of motorcycles.
At the 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year, UM Motorcycles displayed the cruisers like Renegade Commando, Renegade Sport S, and Renegade Classic. The booking for the Renegade Commando and Renegade Sport S has already begun, and both the motorcycle will start delivery from September onwards. Later the Renegade Classic will hit the market, with the booking scheduled to begin by January 2017.
The renegade Commando is a low slung cruiser, powered by a 280 cc engine mated to a six speed transmission. The engine churns out 25 bhp of peak power at 8,500 rpm and 21.8 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 1.61 lakhs (ex showroom, Mumbai). The Renegade Sports S shares the same engine with the Commando, but it looks bit sportier. It comes priced at Rs. 1.51 lakhs (ex showroom, Mumbai).
