UM Motorcycles is also following the same path of Hero MotoCorp as the American manufacturer is planning to launch two adventure bikes in India

Adventure bike segment is gaining popularity in India thanks to premium adventure bikes from Triumph and Ducati which are selling really well. These adventure bikes have the capability to tackle both on-road and off-road, while most of our roads are not good and these bikes are excellent to use in such type of conditions.

Hero Impulse was the only affordable adventure bike available in the country but the company discontinued due to the lack of demand as adventure bikes were not so popular in India during those time. But things have changed and Hero MotoCorp is planning to re-enter adventure bike segment in India with XPulse 200 which was showcased at 2018 Auto Expo.

UM-Hypersport-launch-in-India-soon.-2UM Motorcycles is also following the same path of Hero MotoCorp as the American manufacturer is likely planning to launch two adventure bikes in India. The first model is UM Hypersport which is going to be a direct rival of XPulse 200 and an entry level model appears to be DSR II TT. Both these bikes have been spied in India and we could expect a launch to happen soon.

UM might introduce top of the range Hypersport powered by 223 cc oil cooled engine producing 17.27 bhp of power at 8,000 rpm and 16.86 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. This engine is mated to 5 speed gearbox. To tackle off-road, UM has given under seat exhaust which could help it to wade through water.

UM-Hypersport-launch-in-India-soonThe design of Hypersport is like a proper adventure bike with high mounted fenders along with long suspension travel and wider seats for comfortable ride. For Indian market, UM replaced upside down forks and instead given regular telescopic suspension as they want to keep price competitive against rivals.

The DSR II TT is even more focused towards off-roading than Hypersoft as the company has given spoke wheels along with long suspension travel and minimal body parts to keep weight down which will help during off-roading. The DSR II TT might come with 150 cc engine for Indian market. We are expecting UM Motorcycles to keep their aggressive pricing strategy for adventure bikes also.
