SBS works in similar fashion as the Honda’s CBS; enhances braking efficiency by applying front and rear brake in quick succession

TVS Motor Company has made the Sync Brake System (SBS) technology standard across all variants of its popular scooters Wego and Jupiter. The SBS technology works in similar fashion as HMSI’s Combi Braking System or CBS. This system enhances the braking efficiency of the scooter by applying both the front and rear brakes in quick succession.

This technology ensures even distribution of braking energy to both front and rear wheels, making stopping smoother and offering greater control over the machine. Also, it reduces the force required on the brake lever. Interestingly, this safety enhancing technology will be a compulsory feature in all the new two-wheelers with engine displacement of 125 cc or below from 2018 onwards.

Both the TVS Wego and Jupiter have proved their mettle in the highly competitive and fast growing scooter segment of Indian two-wheeler market. Both the scooters are positioned in the highly competed 110 cc segment. They both share the same 109.7 engine single-cylinder, air-cooled, OHC BS-IV compliant engine paired with a CVT gearbox. The engine is well capable of churning out 8 PS of peak power at 7,500 rpm and 8 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm.

TVS Motor Company is one of the fastest growing and very popular two-wheeler brands in India. Alongside the motorcycle segment, in the scooter segment too it has strong presence with products like Scooty Pep Plus, Zest, Wego and Jupiter. Just a few months ago, it became the second bestselling scooter brand in the country beating the Hero MotoCorp.
