With the latest spy shots, it seems that the TVS Graphite based scooter is all set to hit production lines; likely to come with a 125cc motor
TVS Motor Company has been testing a new scooter for quite sometime now. Earlier, this upcoming model was being rumoured to arrive as the Jupiter 125 but things seem to change with the latest spy shots. The recently snapped TVS scooter looks rather sporty and futuristic in comparison to the company’s existing scooter family and is expected to come with a larger displacement engine. Also, from some angles, this scooter well resembles the company’s Graphite concept that it showcased at the 2014 edition of Auto Expo.
Talking more about the design part, the front end of the scooter is what that catches the attention the most. For the first time ever, TVS has implemented the philosophy of fitting the headlamp into the apron in order to give a sporty appearance to the vehicle. The similar design can be seen already on the Honda Dio, Yamaha Ray and the upcoming Honda Grazia.
Coming to other bits, the exhaust system of the new TVS scooter also looks sharp and gives a hint that this will be indeed a scooter to be positioned higher than the company’s 110cc line up. The unit has a funky shark nose type design and a little bit of chrome can also be seen on it.
The suspension system of this TVS scooter is not clearly visible but going by the slight hint in the images, it can be said that the model will come assisted with telescopic forks at the front. The disc brake is not visible up front but there are chances that the scooter might get one as an optional accessory just like the Jupiter.
The engine on this TVS scooter will likely be a 125cc unit and if this happens, the model will rival with the much hyped Honda Grazia, the bookings for which have commenced just a couple of days back. While the Graphite concept model showcased with it a lot of attention catching elements like an AMT gearbox with paddle shifters, dual channel ABS and clip on handlebars, these are unlikely to be carried forward to the production spec version in order to keep the costs in check.
