TVS Ronin Scrambler Launched In India; Priced At Rs. 1.49 Lakh

TVS Ronin scrambler is equipped with a new 225.9 cc single-cylinder air- and oil-cooled engine with modern-retro styling elements

TVS Motor Company has today launched the Ronin in the domestic market officially following a lengthy teaser campaign and is priced between Rs. 1.49 lakh and Rs. 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom). The TVS Ronin scrambler is an all-new motorcycle and it steps into the segment which has yet to be widely explored by two-wheeler manufacturers in India.

According to TVS, it targets a new breed of modern riders and is based on a brand new chassis. The TVS Ronin boasts a round-shaped headlight cluster with chrome casing, floating digital instrument console, single-piece seat, 3D TVS logo, two-tone body colour, circular rearview mirrors, a tear-drop shaped fuel tank, matt black side slung exhaust unit with a heat shield and black tip, and so on.

Other highlights are LED lighting system for the headlight, taillight and turn signals, muscular rear fender, machined nine-spoke alloy wheels, tubular grab handle, blackened engine area, upright handlebar positioning, centrally positioned footpegs and engine sump guard. The TVS Ronin is suspended on upside-down 41 mm big piston front forks sourced from Showa and a monoshock suspension at the rear with a gas-filled chamber.

The digital console is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity likely boasting call alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. The performance has been derived from a new 225.9 cc single-cylinder air- and oil-cooled engine. It produces a maximum power output of 20.4 PS at 7,750 rpm and 19.93 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a five-speed transmission with a slipper and assist clutch as standard

For braking duties, a single disc at the front and a single disc at the rear will be assisted by a dual-channel ABS system. It does not have any direct rivals in India as is positioned well below the Honda CB350 RS and Yezdi Scrambler. The powertrain is said to have a strong low and mid-range torque with a flat curve all along.

Other highlights in the TVS Ronin are Urban and Rain ABS ride modes, specifically developed block pattern tyres (110/70-17 front and 130/70-17 rear), a unique T-shaped hybrid headlamp, first-in-segment silent start, high-torque compact direct starter, high capacity alternator with unique load control, etc. It also boasts voice assistance, a USB charger, and ride assist.

The single-tone colours available are Magma Red and Lightning Black in the single-channel variant, Delta Blue and Stargaze Black in the single-channel and dual-tone colour trim for Rs. 1.56 lakh and dual-channel triple colour Galactic Grey and Dawn Orange for a price of Rs. 1.68 lakh and Rs. 1.70 lakh respectively (ex-showroom). TVS is also offering a range of accessories and a new line of apparel with the Ronin.
