TVS Radeon commuter bike will be launched in India on August 23 as they want to improve sales in entry level segment

TVS officially announced that the company is going to launch a new product on August 23 in Chennai, but the company didn’t reveal any details about the upcoming product. The Hosur-based manufacturer is going to launch Radeon commuter bike reportedly in India as they want to improve sales in entry level segment.

The Radeon 125 cc concept was showcased at 2012 Auto Expo but the design is going to be completely different from what we have seen in current generation TVS products. The design is going to be one of its USPs and the upcoming commuter bike will come with digital instrument cluster and connectivity features from Ntorq 125 scooter.

Like Ntorq, customers can download a mobile application, which can be connected with the bike and it will come with features like satellite navigation and more. The upcoming commuter bike will share its engine with Victor and the 109.7 cc single-cylinder engine producing 9.5 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 9.4 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.

We can expect the engine to be mated to 4 speed gearbox and it will be tuned to deliver excellent mileage. The Radeon 110 cc commuter bike will come with drum brakes as standard and disc brakes will be optional – with combi-braking system also to be offered for better braking performance.

The mechanicals are expected to be shared with Victor as the company will give telescopic front suspension and adjustable hydraulic dual shocks at rear as it will be tuned for comfort. The recent launches from TVS are all selling well and the company wants to capitalize on the festival season rush with the new launch.

The upcoming commuter bike will be priced aggressively and it will compete against Hero Splendor, Honda Dream Yuga, Bajaj Discover and more. Even though TVS has Star City Plus, Sport and Victor in commuter segment, sales are not too strong and they have high hopes with the upcoming model.
