TVS Racing’s Training Academy for Women Riders Launched

The one year training and racing course will be led by former TVS Racing rider Rajini Krishnan; around 25 women riders to take part

TVS Racing launches an exclusive training academy for the women riders. TVS Racing has tied up with Rajini Academy of Competitive Racing for the riding training program. The one year training course will be led by former TVS Racing rider Rajini Krishnan and other trainers from his own academy. Also, there will be TVS Racing champion riders Jagan Kumar and Harry Sylvester as trainers.

Around 25 women riders will take part in the program from across the country. The trainees have to go through an one-day training and selection process before entering the full course. The training process includes six theory sessions and a practice session on track in form of a short race to give the trainees feel of the real world racing.

Training for the women riders will commence from June this year and the trainees will be given race-spec TVS Apache RTR 200 bikes. Among the 25 riders, top 15 will be selected to take part in the TVS Ladies One-Make Series 2017. Participants with age over 13 years, who have ridden a motorcycle for two years can take part in the One-make series.

The final 15 riders among 25 participants will be selected on the basis of time recorded for 3 lap racing. Speaking about the one-make series, it will consist a total of four races across the year. Apart from manufacturing bikes and scooters, Hosur-based TVS Motors is also trying take various programs like bike race and now the training program for women riders.

The two-wheeler manufacturer is currently gearing up to launch the TVS Apache RR 310S in the country within a few days that will be the brand’s flagship model upon launch. Based on the TVS Akula concept, this bike will be the company’s offering in the premium sportsbike segment with a 313 cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The bike is expected to be priced between Rs. 1.75 lakh – Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
