TVS NTorq Sales See A Massive Boost Of 43% In May 2019

Compared to May 2018, the sales of the TVS NTorq scooter saw a huge increment of 43 per cent to 21,000 plus units sales

TVS NTorq 125cc automatic scooter seems to have hit a sweet spot with the buyers. After posting a massive 61 per cent sales increment on YoY basis in the month of April 2019, it has once again performed too well on the sales charts by posting a YoY sales increase of 43%. Last month, the peppy li’l scooter found 21,010 buyers, which is much more than the 14,695 units sold in the corresponding month last year.

The Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer is really cashing in on the fast increasing popularity of 125cc automatic scooters, which is a fact that is validated by the growing demand for the TVS NTorq at a time when many brands are facing a sales slowdown.

The TVS NTorq is the company’s first-ever scooter that features the SmartXonnnect smartphone integration technology. The advanced system allows the user to pair his device with the scooter through Bluetooth and benefit from a range of features, such as navigation, parking location assist and telephony, that can be accessed through the all-digital instrument cluster.

Other than this, the TVS NTorq also comes with three display modes, namely Ride Stats, Street and Sport, to help the user personalize the speedo cluster accordingly. This is not all as the scooter even gets lap time and top speed recorder, which is a common feature on the sporty RTR range of motorcycles from the Hosur-based manufacturer.

Powering the TVS NTorq is a new 124.8 cc single-cylinder CVTi REVV engine that produces a maximum power of 9.5 hp and a peak torque of 10.5 Nm. The motor comes mated to a CVT. The sporty scooter has a wheelbase of 1,285 mm and tips the scales at 116 kg.

The suspension is courtesy of telescopic front forks and a gas-charged shock absorber at the rear. The TVS Ntorq rivals the likes of Aprilia SR125, Hero Destini 125 and Suzuki Burgman 125. It is on sale in a price bracket of ₹ 59,900 – 67,385 (ex-showroom, Gurugram).
