TVS Ntorq 125 beat Honda Grazia in May 2018 sales and the Ntorq entered top 10 sales charts of scooters for the first time since its launch
TVS officially launched NTorq 125 in February at Rs. 58,570 (Ex-Showroom). The NTorq is the first 125 cc scooter from TVS and the company is planning to sell 2,00,000 units in the first year including exports. TVS Ntorq 125 beat Honda Grazia in May 2018 sales and the Ntorq entered top 10 sales charts of scooters for the first time since its launch.
The sales of Grazia is in-consistent as the scooter broke into top 10 sales in its first month and since then sales are up and down as Honda sold more than 26,000 units in April, 2018. The reason for drop in sales is unknown. Last month is not good for scooters generally as sales dropped for first time in 18 months of constant rise.
Except scooters, every other segment in Indian automotive sector registered positive growth. The reason for drop in sales of scooters is that the entry level bikes are doing really well. Hero Splendor beat Honda Activa sales even though the best selling scooter registered positive growth.
We can expect coming months to give a clear picture of Grazia sales as it will be settle down. TVS NTorq 125 has been very well received by young customers, which was the target audience of the company. One of the reasons for its popularity is thanks to styling which is qureky and at the same times gives a sporty scooter feeling.
