TVS Motor to enter Central America in collaboration with MASESA; it will be responsible for selling bikes in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica

One of India’s top motorcycle brands, TVS Motor Company, has joined hands with MASESA (Mayor Servicios Socieda Anonima) in order to strengthen its profile in Central America ahead of its entry. The partnership meant the Guatemala-based distributor will help in dispatching TVS’ products to five countries across the province. The deal has been penned with MASESA to exclusively develop TVS brand in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica through its dedicated chain of network.

It is considered as a major strategic move as MASESA is a market leader in the commercial bike sales in Central America and its versatile TVS range will contain two-wheelers and three-wheelers. They will be spread across 500 of its sales outlets as some of the popular models like Apache series of entry-level performance naked bikes, Scooty Zest and Wego scooters will be part of the deal.

TVS is hoped to provide right products for its future clients and personalize the value offered through this agreement in Central America. The motorcycles in question will be manufactured at TVS’ existing facility while some others will be shipped from the brand’s plant in Indonesia in a later time.

Another positivity in the new relation is MASESA will also take responsibility of the after sales services and availability of spares ensuring strong support for the customers. Central America is a lucrative region in the world for selling motorcycles as nearly half a million bikes are sold every year with market value of $250 million per annum.

It is only logical for TVS to up its game in Central America as more than one fifth of its total revenue is through exports. Since we are in the topic of TVS and its new collaboration, we would like to see the G310R and G310GS approaching our market soon. As the Motorrad has recently entered in India, the two entry-level bikes will only help in compounding the brand appeal as a whole.
