To commemorate the Scooty Zest’s record of being the first 110 cc scooter to reach world’s highest motorable road Khardung La pass (18380 feet) TVS Motor Company has launched a special edition of the scooter christened as ‘Himalayan Highs’. A 21 year old Indian female professional stunt performer and rider Anam Hashim rode to the Khardung La pass with the TVS Scooty Zest in 20 days from Jammu.
The TVS Scooty Zest 110 cc Himalayan Highs special edition dons some cosmetic upgrades in form of an exclusive Himalayan High Brown colour complemented with Beige pigmented colours. The special edition scooty gets body coloured mirrors, and body coloured cover switch panels. It also adorns a special emblem honoring the amazing feat of reaching the Khardung La.
The TVS Scooty Zest is powered by a 109.7 cc single cylinder 4 stroke CVTi air cooled engine, which produces power for the Jupiter and Wego as well. The engine churns out 8 hp of peak power at 7500 rpm and 8.8 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. The front gets telescopic suspension while the rear is equipped with double rated monoshock suspension. The braking duty is done by 110 mm drum brakes at the front, while the rear wheel sports 130 mm drum brakes.
Commenting on her ride to Khardung La on TVS Scooty Zest Anam Hashim was saying, the 110 cc engine didn’t run out of breath even on very low oxygen altitude of 18380 feet. The ride quality was top notch as well, despite long hours of riding on such rough terrains. Commenting on the launch of the special edition TVS Scooty Zest 110 cc the Vice President, Marketing of TVS Motor Company Mr. Aniruddha Haldar was saying that the company is happy to launch the Zest 110 ‘Himalayan Highs’ special edition to commemorate such an amazing record braking historic ride.
