TVS officially launched Jupiter Grande in India at Rs 57,800 (Ex-Showroom) and this new variant is introduced to improve sales during the festival season. The Jupiter is second best selling scooter in the country, but it was not able to fight against segment leader Honda Active which is miles ahead of rivals.

The Jupiter Grande is Rs. 1600 pricer than the entry-level drum variant and it comes with lots of changes to make it stand out from regular variant. The Grande variant comes with a new Starlight Blue colour and the company has given chrome elements on the front and side, which is similar to the Classic model introduced last year.

The rear view mirrors also get chrome finish. TVS has also given LED headlamps and the instrument cluster is semi-digital with blue backlight illumination, but the speedometer is still analogue. The fully digital cluster from NTorq 125 with connectivity options would have made the scooter more appealing to youngsters.

The company has also given a beige colour for the foot rest area and handlebar along with the new cross-stitched maroon seat. The grab handle gets silver colour and the Grande also come with black alloy wheels. Like most of the modern scooters, TVS is offering USB mobile charger as an option.

The scooter also gets Grande badge at the front and apart from these aesthetic updates, TVS hasn’t made any changes to the Jupiter. The power comes from 109.7 cc single cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 8 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and 8 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. This engine is mated to CVT automatic transmission.

The Jupiter returns 56 kmpl and it is par among with rivals. The Grande variant comes with 130 mm drum brakes at front and rear. TVS has given 12-inch wheels at front and rear with 90/90 section tyre. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at front and gas charged mono shocks at the rear.
